Gottlieb Variations
I saw an Adolph Gottlieb painting called “Blue Abstraction” that struck my fancy. I asked a woodworker friend to cut me six boards (allowing me spares) but he took it upon himself to deliver a dozen. First, I re-created the original, then proceeded to make another eleven more on the theme. I suspect, had he left me two dozen boards, I could have conjured up that number. Thus, the “Gottlieb Variations.”
